Morphology Program
Following mastery of our Comprehensive and Intermediate Levels, students participate in the Morphology Curriculum which aids in the process of word analysis, expands vocabulary, and improves reading comprehension. Direct, sequential, explicit instruction includes:

Morphological Understanding: Recognizing morphemes in word structure and understanding their meaning.

Spelling: Accurately applying morphemes, along with phonics, to correctly spell words.

Vocabulary: Supporting a deeper and richer vocabulary development by understanding morphemes to increase vocabulary acquistion.

Word Recognition: Automatically identifying words without conscious effort, leading to fluent reading.

Comprehension: Understanding the meaning of text and making connections to previous knowledge and content.

Fluency: Accurately and automatically read multisyllabic words with appropriate expression.

Phonological Understanding: Advanced activities that continue to further a student’s abilities in auditorily manipulating phonetic sounds to form new words.
